Hot Tapping is a process used to make a new connection into a pressurized pipeline while it is still in operation, without shutting it down.
Hot Tapping is a process used to make a new connection into a pressurized pipeline while it is still in operation, without shutting it down. This allows for the addition of new branches or connections to be made to the existing pipeline, while maintaining the flow of fluid. Hot Taps can be done on lines containing water, oil, gases, fuels, steam, and many other chemicals. Pressures up to 1440 psig can be Hot Tapped safely with no interruption of service.
